Hi Bill & Karen, Hope all is going well. Was just cruising your web page and thought I'd send a hello. Now living in Calgary and enjoying the celtic traditions that venture this far west, but missing the east of the hebrides events. Talk to ya soon. Billie-Jean |

Dear Friends, What a terrible and horrific past few hours we have all gone through. I am sure that too many of us will have to endure the agony of losing a loved one or a friend because of the barbarity of people filled with blind hatred. At the least, the events have changed each of us in yet unknown ways. Karen and I join with all in extending our best wishes to everyone impacted. This weekend is the Shawnee Mountain Scottish & Irish Music Festival. We have heard from many people wondering if the festival will go on as scheduled. The answer, after much discussion is YES! Perhaps by continuing on we will show, even in a small way, that we as a people will not be cowered or forced to not live our lives as we should - free and proud! We can use this weekend festival to be together, to share our common bond and yes... even our sadness. The music will go on. All of the activities will proceed. We will show respect and care. We will stand together and celebrate our way of life and those that have perished. With sadness and grief it is our hope that throughout the world, those filled with malice towards their fellow man will stop and realize that we are all precious. That religion, political ideology, history, culture or skin color should not give cause to such hatred that has been expressed in such a terrible way on Tuesday morning or anywhere in the world. If you can join us at Shawnee, we will be happy to see you. If you find it impossible to attend, our thoughts and prayers will be with you also. Bill, Karen, Ian & Andrew Reid - East of the Hebrides Entertainments. |
